In sum: Psykers are not game-breakingly powerful until they reach very high ranks; and since Haxtes is primarily an assassin he won't get there until he's an experienced 30000+XP INQUISITOR.

But even at psy rating 1-2 it will give access to options mundane people does not have. AND, most importantly, you'll be a LOT cooler!

OK, short version of the Rogue Trader based system:

Each use of a Psychic Power is like a normal skill check. Most powers use Focus as a base, but some use Acumen or Presence.

You add 5x Psy Rating to your Focus to determined your effective skill. So a Psy 1 Haxtes would be Focus + 5., but a Psy 10 Xerza would be Focus +50.

You can also get extra bonuses for picking Discipline Talents, the Power Well Talent, etc.

So once you have 2 or 3 points of psy rating plus a few supporting feats you will be able to make your power tests most of the time (a lot of the typical powers are Challenging (+0%) to use, but some of the minor ones are even easier).

With psy 1 and no supporting feats you obviously can't expect to succeed all the time (but you should be able to do Unnatural Aim 50% of the time).

Psykers also get to decide how much of their power they want to use; the less of your psy rating you use, the safer it is. Desperate (or weak) psykers can call upon extra power with the invocation skill, but this can be very dangerous.

What's the point? Once you've decided I'll merely change the system again ;)

Wait a few hours more and you'll see if say Unnatural Aim is worth the 100XP.

Not fast in answering are we ?
(Dont give it too the npc they seem to have plenty )
Xp is good, I`m waiting for the psy update too make up my mind on how to spend my fine xp. need too know the cost of minor powers and if with psy 1 there is the odd chance of making a power work from time too time.
