The best source for visual imagery is the movie 'Event Horizon' - a mix of coldly sterile utltra-tech, but covered by a veneer of gothic-baroque - and then add some of the gritty grubbiness of the 'Nostromo'. On the outside its the dark grey functionality of the 'Sulaco', but with more of the gothic-baroque.

The spine corridor of the Maiden is inspired by that long corridor connecting the crew quarters and engineering section of the Event Horizon.

Beyond that the Maiden is a combination of old large-gun battleship, aircraft carrier, supertanker/container ship.

And it gives us a Gothic feel, a large dark launch bay and the unused tech-priest rooms with old pipes and machines...cool

Yeah, you can even speak to her :)

After adding more detail to the ship I'm thinking the old launch bay/former tech-priest research lab is a good spot for the secret Inquisition hideout. It's close to the bridge and crew quarters, yet easily concealable.

Nice Note :) Good too have a idea of the size and capability of the Maiden. We do spend a fair bit of game time on her. She has become an important team member.

To get an idea of the scale of the Maiden:

Take one Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. The Maiden is twice as long (plus another half Nimitz in engines and beaky bow). It's twice as broad - and we're taking the flight deck here. It's a little taller than its broad, about twice as tall as the Nimitiz is, keel to antennae.

So that's about 8 Nimitzes++. Now take the biggest supertanker you can find and roll it into a ball. Then jam six such balls into the side of the 8 Nimitzes++.

That's one Maiden for you.

No start imagining the amount of rooms and corridors and square and quick meters and pipes and cables and...you could spend a lifetime on board and not know everything!
