Foretold indeed, just another Harlock cult.
Nasty ? I have no idea what you are talking about all in a days work.
Now, Haxtes needs to find his target,(and kill it) hopefully before the planets align and the whole place goes to the Eye in a hand basket(But Haxtes does not place a lot of faith in hope, so it will most likely be after but the deed is the same and a corpse is a corps)
So eater the targets cult will lead him there or the "Friendly" helpers will tell all so back to the square. Oh and if Haxtes sees that hunter thing he shoots first and asks later... much later( more like never).
So in short plan is to find lead cultist, before planet falls if possible, no price too high, no amount of dead maters, just the targets death.

The outer door opens along well-oiled tracks. You're fully kited. You took the time to consume two field rations so you're hydrated and fed. No crippling injuries. No mind-numbing fatigue. In other words: You feel great!

You take two steps forward and then you are falling towards the city below. The dome recedes behind you and the buildings grow bigger by the second. The people in their garish party-clothes are less visible now that darkness is falling, replaced by the countless light of a city of millions.

You pull the chord and aim for a suitable landing spot. Been a while since you last did that. Must have been back as Sepheris Secundus. Nasty piece of business that. But so is this. Then again...when is the business of the Inquisition NOT nasty?

What now?

The judges have a few semi-portable shield generators available, but these beasts are not something Haxtes wants to carry around.

Proctor Ramiles to the rescue: He offers you the use of his 'symbol of undying loyalty to the Throne'. Which turns put to be a adamantine necklace of the Imperial two-headed eagle. Cunningly woven into the amulet and chain is a miniature shield generator. Ramiles claims that it's always 'on' and that it's save his life more than once. He also claims it doesn't require any power to run, but that it will shut down for a variable amount of time if overloaded. Once he was shot five times at point blank range with a heavy stub pistol and there was not a scratch on him. If - and you're not entirely convinced - his claims are true this trinket is nearly invaluable, for it contains several greatly miniaturized archaic technologies.

And how did your two throne whore come to own such a trinket? It was handed down to him by his fellow conspirator - an unbroken line of Arbites that have watched over the container for generations, waiting for a servant of Lord Melbinious to return. As was foretold no less.

All things Haarlock are weird, Maybe life is a cycle and Haxtes has walked this path before, maybe its all a cunning scam. who knows. Haxtes puts the portraits back. and turns to the sniveling two throne whore.

"It will do, now what do you have in the personal shield section(Haxtes does not mention the Barons new fine walking stick) ?"

Ramiles: "We do not have any chameloine. Best I can do is one of these holo-projectors. It's used by Arbites observers and snipers. Works best if you're stationary and is a bit bulky..."

It looks useful, if a little clunky. A box that can be strapped to the forearm or put in your belt. Plus some wires and projection nodes. Oh well, you to it into your utility bag.

"Thy will be done Master." He gets up.

The walking stick turns out to have a hidden power blade, a one-shot bolt launcher in the tip and a miniature power field generator in the hilt. The generator is so small it can't last long if the field is attacked, but its a nice touch. Not something you'd carry while prowling, but Baron Illeville has use for such items.

You don't have time to rifle through the thousands of item inside the container, but a few more catches your eye:

A series of portraits in various styles and formats. They all depict a man looking a lot like yourself. In one 'you' are a Speaker at the Quorum of Protasia, in another a Flag Lieutenant of the Imperial Navy, there is even one with a greenclad Space Marine that has your features. You in a greenish robe with symbols of the Grandfather cunningly woven into the fabric. You as a black-clad Interrogator of the Ordo Xenos. Several more. These are normal portraits - not the psycho-reactive type that Parsifal found on Solomon. Weird.

You gather more mundane items from the armory. Knives. grenades. There is no fine xeno-mesh for you, but a armoured jumpsuit is almost as good. For good measure you add a leather-and-flak coat and a light carapace helmet with photovisor and rebreather.

Anything else before you go?

The standard Imperial container is 12 meters long, 3 meters wide and 3 meters high. Even when empty it weighs several tons.

Ramiles: "I can arrange to have it brought to any location of your choice. Either a city-mansion if you have one, the spaceport or one of the Arbites strong-points down in the city."

The man has, for some reason, gone down on one knee and is averting his eyes from you. Having a worshiper is always nice, but why this behavior.
