Seeing as how they spend ages divining and arguing over every little piece that goes into the STC collection, it's not hard to imagine controversy should a 'complete' set (not that it will) be recovered.

Imagine if a distant Forge World got hold of it; would they want to share it all...all that delicious sacred knowledge? And even if they did, it would likely cause all sorts of schisms and factionalism as various groups argue over what was/was not part of the holy STC grail...

Kage: No, I don't think they'd realize they had a complete and pure system. Well, you could imagine a system that contained poof of its own purity (an Abominable Intelligence perhaps ;-), but the AdMech would never take anything at face value (least of all from such a creature).

Besides, if the STC (it is to me anyway) is the Holy Grail, then it should not be known, much less actually discovered...it is the search that defines. But that's just me.

I would imagine that there is the same degree of theological variations/interpretations in the Adeptus Mechanicus as any religion, so the standard set up of the 40k universe would likely apply (puritan/radical). Furthermore, just because it is a "religion" doesn't mean that one has to apply the same perceptions of modern-day religion to them.

But whatever works for the individual--the mantra of 40k! :D

It's part religion for them, so probably not. If a complete new STC is found they would need centuries to figure out if the Omnissiah approves or not.

One wonders whether the Adeptus Mechanicus would even realise that they had a fully functioning STC system. After all, it is meant to be the singularity point of human (and generally all... ish) technology, so the idea that psionics technology and examples of xenos technology are not incorporated would create many doubters.
