There is a good-quality bolt-pistol inside, stamped with the Imperial Eagle and the Sun-and-planet symbol of Protasia.

"Good. I am sure you will wield it well."

"There is some sort of gathering of your peers in the mess hall. An attendant is waiting for your outside. He'll show you to your quarters and arrange for a more suitable attire."

With that the Marine, his name and rank - Chief Librarian Kaminsky - is stenciled on his armor, bids you goodbye and leave the cell. You find the attendant outside and follow him to a two-bunk room with an adjoining bathroom. A black syn-suit is laid out for you, and to your surprise your trusted needler and your blade are also there.

After cleaning yourself up and dressing you follow the attendant to the mess hall to see the others.

"I'm not given too thinking on my planet of birth, but the past is not something we should forget.

I will accept it as a token of my respect for you, who serve the God-Emperor of Man in the front ranks of the war. I will ever fight in the shadows but when I fire the weapon a part of me is fighting with you in the light."

"Yes, that is so. It is what we do with what has been given us that matters. You will undoubtedly make a good agent for the Inquisition as well, and go on to do great things."

He puts down a small gilded gun-case on the floor. You've seen it before, back on Protasia. You found it, or one very like it, in the ruins of a noble's mansion shortly before you were taken.

"Does it look familiar? I was there, on Protasia, hunting for potential recruits years ago. I found your lair and this, but you were gone. I kept it, knowing our paths would cross again, so said the Imperial Tarot."

You realize that the Marine must be a psyker himself.

"It is a fine weapon, though much too small for any Marine to wield properly, but it should suit you. The Protasian gun-forges were not numerous, but what they made was really good. I would like you to have it."
