Ignorance is Bliss - Influence with supporting NPCs (OOC)

by DM B

Each PC can select one of the acolyte NPCs to have as contact (you don't have to select one, it optional); you can assume that during the rather lengthy space voyage the follows you have time to get to know the others, and that you've managed to befriend, bed, or whatever one of the others.

Edit: Each PC got 3 influence points to spread among several NPCs since neither of you managed the simple task of naming a SINGLE NPC :-)

"To stand upon the bedrock of the Law is our great duty. To presume to stand above it is our worst heresy." I'm not sure if Max would open himself for others, at least not at this time. During the voyage he would try to get on top of thing. Getting the feel of the Inquisitorial dogma and bearing by reading briefs, reports and other informations of earlier missions on the worlds and system they are traveling to. Vern, Silon and Venus are properly those he would collaborate most with if they could help his study. Maxi is more uncomfortable around the witches, especially Lady Xerza and will not seek their council or keep their company if he has a choice. He will cooperate with Jerra, Haxtes and the Fervious twins in training but feels no kinship with them in other areas.

Vern is definitely the most sociable of the three, and the one with which you have most in common - is is also very much a man of faith, which is probably reassuring at this time. Silon is actually not so bad. Oh, he as complete jerk, but you don't feel any aura of unease around him or whatnot. And he is a military man, a bloody Hero of the Imperial no less. Or at least he was before he got grounded and spent time in Naval Security - as a sort of customs official. So he's almost law enforcement as well. Venus is just...weird. She doesn't have much in the way of people skills that's for sure; she LOOKS normal enough, but most of the times she seems lost in her own little world. You are presently en-route back to Scintilla, the capital of Calixis, where you will be properly screened, trained, equipped, and briefed.

"From hereticus and xenos And long-leggedy malleus And things that go bump in the night, God Emperor, deliver us!" Maxi would have discussions of faith and his 'condition' with Vern, he even gives Vern his files to give insight to Maxi's predicament. He has tremendous respect for Venus as a Tech-Priestes and will continue to treat her as such. He will associate himself closer to Silion as he finds their background as commissioned officers as common ground. Maxi will during the voyage give confession and seek atonement from whoever is the equivalent of a Ministorum Priests aboard the ship. However, he will ask Lady Xerza's permission before he seeks the priest. (And NO!!!, he will not permit Xerza to give it.)

Haxtes will try and get the tech prist Venus as good gear is hard too find. she looks like she needs a friend in this cold hard fellowship and Haxtes is ever the gentleman. The other contact is if posible xerza, she isthe one who can bring insite into our new employer and patron. And she theces witch craft. And lets not forget the old maxim; Stick with the devil and too hell with the rest.....

OOC: OK, so Max spreads his Influence among Vern, Venus and Silon (1 point each). Haxtes focuses more on Venus (2 points) and spends some on Xerza (1 point). According to Vern Max is just a victim of a harsh doctrine regarding what is human and what is not. It is well within the province of Imperial Technology to create and shape life, but for as long as anyone can remember there has been a very strict ban on creating intelligence, and that includes the creation of biological androids.

"Worship the Immortal Emperor For without Him we are Nothing " Max will during the voyage come to the understanding that his past will be void when he is initiated into the Inquisition and therefore become irrelevant for him and others in the future.
