Notes on prelude 'adventures'

by DM B

I'm not expecting you to write long pieces; just write as often and as much as you want, and I'll move the story forward as needed, using new posts or adding to yours as needed. The point for you is making a few key decisions (i.e. go for the bridge or enginarium, help Xerza or shoot her in the head, that sort of thing), theer rest is just my attempt at A) adding background and integrating NPCs into the campaing and B) helping you get into the 40k mood (as presented by me - there are a million different 40k verses out there, but this one is mine).

And yes, you can gain xtra XP, items, contacts etc. Not a whole lot, but a little. Likewise you CAN die, but only if you're really really stupid (see, you don't die until your Fate Points are gone - but you don't want to start the campaign having spent all of them during the plelude ;-)

Ok. If it helps you can have "open" and "ended" threads. So we can write in multiple threads. The thread is ended by you setting punctuation or something. I like your editing but as Torleif say we don't receive any notice. Could you simply just post a bump afterwards? We usually notice those.

Although the prelude adventure is mostly narrative I try to bring it as close as possible to what you COULD have been doing if we were rolling the dice. I'm not ENTIRELY sure it would have worked out this way, but I'm hoping that you systems-wise will be able to do some fairly heroic stuff, without becoming superheroes. That's the idea anyway.

While on work my post are usually written slowly since I’m continuously disturbed by phone, guest, deliveries and all those darned coworkers of mine. So it's not unusual that I post two or three hours after I checked the last comments.

Mind you, I don't want you to pace yourself because of that. As I read this forum it's more about us concreting and colouring our character during your storytelling. If a comment comes a bit late but is sound, in character and plausible. I don't mind that it slurry the thread a bit.

Note to: "Somewhere in space" OOC: I did do the rite of appease. The gentle stroke on it's top together with the most blessed prayer "Nice machine" incarnation, then humming in tune with it, it's come to life song. All those I did. But alas, the fuse spirit on the wall got jealous and ended our sacred prayers. Damn, I had this "We're all expendable, Vern." speech ready. "How many lives are paid to gain one Adaptus Arbites not to mention Adeptus Astarte?" Well, to moment will come again no doubt.
