Chapter 1 - In the Service - Conclusion

Location: Acreage system, Josian Reach, Calixis Sector

Situation: Aboard the Maiden of Golgenna, following the destruction of Orlankan

Body: With the xenos threat ended its is time for regrouping and planning ahead. Not all the slaught vessels were destroyed -  some punched through the Navy blockade and disappeared in a fashion that would have made the Eldar proud. One of the frigates - the Absolution of Malfi - has been heavily damaged and cannot leave Acerage system before repairs have been affected. So Soldevan has decided to remain on station here until a Munitorum repair convoy from Solomon can arrive. Besides, he needs to look into planetary affairs - see if there are more aliens present.

A sort of victory celebration is being held aboard the Maiden. It's the smaller ship, but she IS a Rogue Trader's vessel, and thus more suited to that sort of activity than battle-damaged frigates or Astartes cruisers. Soldevan is here. Some of his staff. Trempan too - out of coma, but still in a wheelchair. All the acolytes - and the newly promoted Explicator Haxtes Guilliman - are present. Along with Navigator Erasmus and two Marines - Kaminsky and Ivanov. Ranking officers from the Navy are in attendance. Rogue Trade Jax. There is food and drink. There is even a small 8-woman orchestra. The music is pleasing to the ears and the girls to the eyes. Quite the combination...

Jax is in a very good mood, working the crowd. Eventually he ends up with the two Astartes - who seems to be offering him trading rights to their fiefdom of Phagir. You know what they say? Beware of Astartes bearing gifts...

Soldevan is also in a good mood - first his successful campaign against the Veiled Hand. And now this - the first confirmed major Slaught incursion into Imperial space. Identified and crushed. A major victory of Soldevan - also in political terms. And of course there is the sword too. It has certainly been a good days work for old Soldevan. Haxtes is in his charming persona. His Explicator Rosette gleaming at his throat. Wonder where he got that one? Out here in the hinterlands? That's right, he believes in being prepared for any eventuality...

Try as he might, Jebediah just doesn't fit in with the higher society. After some idle small-talk and a riveting dramatization of his exploits in the fight against boarders (who grow in number each time he tells the tale), Jeb only seems interested in two things: The drinks, which he exclaims both looks and tastes "fruity", and the eight woman of the orchestra, who he fervently attempts to persuade into doing a private performance for him in his private cabin later.

"Eh..." Jeb takes the offered drink with a slight nod of thanks, though he is somewhat puzzled at the following words. "You're certain that's a good idea? I mean I'm a ranker, not an officer. Not really trained to lead men other than through my own actions." He pauses. "But perhaps Parsifal and I can look at something together? I'll consider it. Thanks again for the amasec - damn sight better than the sweetberry-juice that fellow over there tried to persuade me to gobble down."

Maxi whom mainly have observed and evaluated the celebration (and Haxtes mood), well he has small talked to one of the Absolution officers about Malfi homeworld current affairs and news. So he hasn't stood in a corner and glooming all the time. Deciding to take advantage of the formal situation he move against Haxtes who shares a drink with Jeb. Maxi acknowledge and give a small nod to them both before he address Haxtes: "Explicator, we need a talk." (IC Note: This is not a thread stealer so if anyone want to write something it won't disturb Maxi's conversation.)

We have had a different view on the words team and work, We are a team and as long as I lead it we will work as a team, take hits for the team and make damn sure that no one fucks with our team. Fuck with one you get fucked by all of us. We will have team work, that means that you need to get back into a team spirit- if you do then we are fine, then its all hugs and kisses and welcome back too the family. If you dont, well then I`l try my best too transfer you after the mission and use you as a security trooper until then. make your choice " Haxtes takes a sip of hes drink and awaits maxis answer
