House of Dust and Ash - The House, the Cygnan Martyr

by DM B

The sky-ship you came with will not be departing anytime soon. As you might have noticed the ship suffered some damage and the captain doesn't want to go anywhere before he's had the chance to do some repairs. There are a couple of other sky-ships also at anchor on the island, but not very many.

If you want to you may arrange for passage back with the same ship - or catch another vessel as you please.

You also have the option of leaving Parsifal aboard the Martyr. He's stable and showing signs of recovering. Your call.

Then there is Octavia Nile. If you tell captain Elias Shadrack that she was in contact with the Wreckers he will insist that she's locked up in the brig and later turned over to the law for aiding and abetting known pirates. Or you can keep quite and let her disembark to see what she's up to (and Haxtes has his own little revenge planned for her anyway - there will be no escape for Octavia Nile in the end).

Abbot Tamas won't be participating in the auction - his possession by the Crow Father made sure of that. That leaves only Lanus Cisten, the young guild representative, of the first-class passengers that will actually be bidding.

Then there is Vymer and Quill, the two bounty hunters that caught Maxi's attention. They too survived and are getting off. Surely their target is not the auction, but someone at the auction.

Elias Shadrack Octavia Nile will get what is coming to her by the Ordo Maleus. We will leave it to them too decide her level of guilt. Vymer and Quill, will need looking out for, Maxi and Jeb can follow them and or befriend them and if they are a threat kill them. (OCC: I`m busy with exams so my post will be short, but that's what Haxtes orders Jeb and Maxi to do, the guards and Venus will escort the RT and Azmuth will guard the rooms and if possible Pars can be transported to the Maiden).

Vymer and Quill could be approached under a RnR guise. A casual approach on free watch recognising some familiar faces. "Hey, weren't you on the Cygnan Matryr that docked earlier. That was a nasty ride. Do you know any good bars or entertainment? Hang around first round is on me. Duty? Well not for the next twelve clicks, earned us a short RnR to shape up after that trip." On the other hand their true intent wouldn't be deeply probed in casual conversation so some surveillance could at least bring information on their whereabouts and whom they meet. Either way a rest and relaxation cover would give Jeb and Maxi an opportunity to move around and get a feel for this place more freely. (You get a better feel of a place if you don't have to involve yourself but watch as a cynical spectator, sometimes.)

Captain Elias Shadrak will be staying on the Martyr - he'll not set foot on the island if it can be helped. His First Officer, Lanus Cisten Nahun Grist, will be handling the Martyr's affairs on land. In case you need something or otherwise want to get in touch.

You cannot extract Parsifal - the House is forbidden airspace, the reason why you had to go by sky-ship in the first place. So Pars can stay aboard the Martyr or be taken inside as you please.
Also remember that you need to make sure that your astropath, Messinus, survives if he is to notify the Ordo Malleus. He's got the message stored and ready to send, but you opted for him to wait until you were back on the ship to transmit (cuz he could then use your own Choir and avoid having to go through a commercial or Adeptus relay). You are, of course, free to change that plan if the situation changes.
Vymer and Quill are not very forthcoming, but some info can be gleaned:
They are not a threat to your missions. They are here, almost certainly, to look for one or more bounty targets.
